    Where are my services?

    Hello,

    I've just installed my first Shinken 1.2.4 instance and added some hosts (switches) and put them into a "switches" host group, which worked just fine. Then, I wanted to add some services (HTTP check), so I created the file "http.conf" inside the "services" directory with the following content:

    define service {
    service_description HTTP
    hostgroup switches
    check_command check_tcp!80
    use generic-service
    }

    When I restart the Shinken service it succeeds, but there are no services existing on the CheckMK web interface. There is only the hostgroup containing the hosts, but the list of services is empty. I've also checked the spelling inside the configs.

    Can somebody help me please? Would be nice!

    Thanks in advance!

    I am not sure but I think the directive you have to use for hostgroup is hostgroup_name
    This is the definition from official shinken page:

    @davendill:
    I'm using the same Shinken version as sut, I also use hostgroup only ... and ... I just noticed, my HTTP service config looks almost exactly (other host group name) as the one posted above and it works fine. I guess there are some aliases for hostgroup_name.

    Can you check your services directory is present in the nagios.cfg file ? If so, maybe change your http.conf to http.cfg (im not sure shinken takes into account config files with extension different from cfg, this is just a wild guess)

    Nice monitoring and all feeble tools are applied for the enduring passages for the people. The reforms of the visitors of the https://customessaysreviews.com/smar...ngservice-com/ are held for the entitlement for the humans. The full control of the aspect is dumped for the sustained items for the candidates. the services soft in nature and durable for the future offers for the tasks for the field for the learning curve.
