    Re: Bug on retention module (memcache and redis) ?

    With the -d option, I get these logs:
    RedisRetention True load_retention
    [RedisRetention] asking me to load the retention objects
    The instance RedisRetention raise an exception 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xe9 in position 1660: ordinal not in range(128). I disable it and set it to restart it later
    Back trace of this remove : Traceback (most recent call last):
    File "/usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/shinken/scheduler.py", line 274, in hook_point
    f(self)
    File "/usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/shinken/modules/redis_retention_scheduler.py", line 116, in hook_load_retention
    val = str(unicode(val))
    UnicodeDecodeError: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xe9 in position 1660: ordinal not in range(128)
    But no more details..

    Re: Bug on retention module (memcache and redis) ?

    Hi,

    I just push a commit that should fix it. Can you give it a try? (in fact the fix is to delete this line, it should be useless I think).

    Thanks ;D

    You can remove all :
    val = str(unicode(val))

    in shinken/modules/redis_retention_scheduler.py

    I just pushed a potential fix for this in the sources. Can you give it a try?
