    [Resolved] WS_Arbiter and uses documentation

    Hi everyone,

I'm currently using a Shinken system with active checks and will need passive ones to monitor home-made softwares behind firewalls.

    My problem is :
I can't find a complete documentation on the WS_Arbiter module and the way to configure it... Do I miss something ?
I just saw that the states are sent with HTTP(s) POST requests, but no more details

Please, can someone help me ?
    Thx,

    Zara.

(single server Shinken 1.2.2 on Ubuntu 12.04)

No sorry I didn't took time to wrote it. You can have a look at the module code at shinken/modules/ws_arbiter.py it's not so hard to understand how the POST query should be configured.

    Re: WS_Arbiter and uses documentation

OK I found how to send the states to the WS_Arbiter with a curl command (pretty easy in fact ;D ) that make a POST in HTTP.

    curl -u userassword -d "time_stamp=$(date +%s)&host_name=host-checked&service_description=service-checked&return_code=0&output=Everything OK" http://shinken-srv:7760/push_check_result

    Now my next question
Is it possible for the WS_Arbiter to listen on httpS POST commands ?

No I don't think so, or with a nginx reverse with ssl maybe.

I respond late to that post just to say that, like naparuba said previously, it is possible to CURL to WS_Arbiter through HTTPS with a reverse proxy.
I've done it successfully with Apache.
