Re: NetworkUsage does not produces graphs

I can see performance data if I launch this command from terminal but nothing about performance data into the shinken webUI:

    Code:
    [root@srv ~]# /usr/local/shinken/libexec/check_snmp_netint.pl -H <SRV_IP_ADDR> -C public -n "0x436f6e6e6578696f6e2072827365617520496e74656c2852292050524f2f31303030204d5400" -f -e -z -w 90,90,0,0,0,0 -c 0,0,0,0,0,0 -q -k -y -M -B -m
    0x436f6e6e6578696f6e2072827365617520496e74656c2852292050524f2f31303030204d5400:UP (no usable data - 1 rows) :(1 UP): OK | '0x436f6e6e6578696f6e2072827365617520496e74656c2852292050524f2f31303030204d5400_in_error'=0c '0x436f6e6e6578696f6e2072827365617520496e74656c2852292050524f2f31303030204d5400_in_discard'=0c '0x436f6e6e6578696f6e2072827365617520496e74656c2852292050524f2f31303030204d5400_out_error'=0c '0x436f6e6e6578696f6e2072827365617520496e74656c2852292050524f2f31303030204d5400_out_discard'=0c

Re: NetworkUsage does not produces graphs

Do not look like valid values, seems that the snmp is giving bad values (hex?)

Re: NetworkUsage does not produces graphs

It's possible but this command and his result provided here is that for a windows server where graphs are working.

    Windows:
    Code:
    [root@srv ~]# /usr/local/shinken/libexec/check_snmp_netint.pl -H <SRV_IP_ADDR> -C public -n "0x436f6e6e6578696f6e2072827365617520496e74656c2852292050524f2f31303030204d5400" -f -e -z -w 90,90,0,0,0,0 -c 0,0,0,0,0,0 -q -k -y -M -B -m

    0x436f6e6e6578696f6e2072827365617520496e74656c2852292050524f2f31303030204d5400:UP (no usable data - 9 rows) :(1 UP): OK | '0x436f6e6e6578696f6e2072827365617520496e74656c2852292050524f2f31303030204d5400_in_error'=0c '0x436f6e6e6578696f6e2072827365617520496e74656c2852292050524f2f31303030204d5400_in_discard'=0c '0x436f6e6e6578696f6e2072827365617520496e74656c2852292050524f2f31303030204d5400_out_error'=0c '0x436f6e6e6578696f6e2072827365617520496e74656c2852292050524f2f31303030204d5400_out_discard'=0c
    Linux:
    Code:
    [root@srv ~]# /usr/local/shinken/libexec/check_snmp_netint.pl -H <SRV_IP_ADDR> -C public -n "eth0" -f -e -z -w 90,90,0,0,0,0 -c 0,0,0,0,0,0 -q -k -y -M -B -m

    eth0:UP (no usable data - 1 rows) :(1 UP): OK | 'eth0_in_error'=0c 'eth0_in_discard'=0c 'eth0_out_error'=0c 'eth0_out_discard'=0c
For windows, I have graphs, but for Linux there is no graph (I see only an icon picture that indicates XML file not found when we clicked on it)

Re: NetworkUsage does not produces graphs

    Same for me :

The perfdata are correctly shown in "Additional Informations" in WebUI but no graph in PNP :

    Code:
    XML file "/usr/local/pnp4nagios/var/perfdata/HOST/NetworkUsage.xml" not found
By the way the perfdata are very very long ( about 4000 charaters). May be there is a limit for the module perfdata to parse such a long string ?

Re: NetworkUsage does not produces graphs

There is no for shinken nor the module, but maybe in PNP.

A priori, no limitation in PNP either !

Re: NetworkUsage does not produces graphs

same problem here, did a fresh installation and can see all gtraphs except the networkusage. I can see perfdata beeing created

    Code:
    root@server:/usr/local/pnp4nagios/var# tail -f perfdata.dump
    DATATYPE::SERVICEPERFDATA	TIMET::1371131093	HOSTNAME::host.tld	SERVICEDESC::NetworkUsage	SERVICEPERFDATA::'eth0_in_octet'=2033088836c 'eth0_out_octet'=263259225c 'eth0_in_error'=0 'eth0_out_error'=0 'eth0_in_discard'=0 'eth0_out_discard'=0 'eth1_in_octet'=1684453900c 'eth1_out_octet'=17194930c 'eth1_in_error'=0 'eth1_out_error'=0 'eth1_in_discard'=0 'eth1_out_discard'=0 cache_descr_ids=2,3 cache_descr_names=eth0,eth1 cache_descr_time=1371124996 cache_descr_ids=2,3 cache_descr_names=eth0,eth1 cache_descr_time=1371124996 'eth0_in_octet.1371130997'=2032709117 'eth0_out_octet.1371130997'=263051422 'eth0_in_error.1371130997'=0 'eth0_out_error.1371130997'=0 'eth0_in_discard.1371130997'=0 'eth0_out_discard.1371130997'=0 'eth1_in_octet.1371130997'=1684226362 'eth1_out_octet.1371130997'=17194930 'eth1_in_error.1371130997'=0 'eth1_out_error.1371130997'=0 'eth1_in_discard.1371130997'=0 'eth1_out_discard.1371130997'=0 ptime=1371131093	SERVICECHECKCOMMAND::check_linux_network_usage	SERVICESTATE::0	SERVICESTATETYPE::1
But the xml as well as rrd file are not beeing created:
    Code:
    root@server:/usr/local/pnp4nagios# ls var/perfdata/host.tld/
    Cpu.rrd Cpu.xml Disks.rrd Disks.xml	_HOST_.rrd _HOST_.xml	Http.rrd Http.xml Load.rrd Load.xml	Memory.rrd Memory.xml
    How can this be fixed?

    Thanks in advance!

Re: NetworkUsage does not produces graphs

I think it's because of the eth0_in_octet.1371130997 metric things. It won't work in PNP, because the number of metric and their names are switching every time. So unless you are enabling the "rrd" split in rrd (I don't remember the option name, but it will create a rrd by metric), it will fail. but this will also full your disk. So the current good solution is to NOT use this network script or change it so it do not output such .TIME option.

What is the recommended replacement, then?

As it is still this broken one which is shipped in the "packs/os/linux/commands.cfg", I wonder what are other using to get network usage graphs through SNMP?
