[RESOLVED] Service Dependency with "hostgroup_name" - probleme

    Hey,

    I have this conf :
    Code:
    define servicedependency{
       hostgroup_name H-GRP_exemple
       service_description SNMP CHECK
       dependent_service_description CROND,NTPD,Postfix,FIREWALL_RULES,Mailqueue,SYSLOGD,PUPPETD
       execution_failure_criteria w,u,c,p
       inherits_parent 0
       dependency_period T-PER_24x7
       notification_failure_criteria u,w,c,p
    }
but if i launch check config :

    Code:
    # /etc/init.d/shinken check
    Doing config check
full result is in /tmp/shinken_checkconfig_result ... (warning).
ConfigCheck failed: AttributeError: 'Servicedependency' object has no attribute 'host_name' ... failed!
     failed!
But Shinken seems to manage the parameter "hostgroup_name" ...

    CF:
    =servicedependency#service_dependency_definitions]http://www.shinken-monitoring.org/wiki/official/advancedtopics-objecttricks?s[]=servicedependency#service_dependency_definitions

    :

Note : with "host_name ' it works fine --- All services in "dependent_service_description" and in service_description exist

    Thx

Re: Service Dependency with "hostgroup_name" - probleme

It seems it can't inherit the missing dependent_hostgroup_name parameter from the hostgroup_name. If you add the dependent_hostgroup_name parameter, is it ok?

By the way, it's better to not use the execution_failure_criteria. Notification is far enough (the UIs can hide it, and with execution allowed the internal logic can works).

Re: Service Dependency with "hostgroup_name" - probleme

As always, thank you for the help

    I added:
    Code:
    dependent_hostgroup_name H-GRP_exemple
(My service "SNMP CHECK" exists for all the host of the group "H-GRP_exemple".)

However, this is does not seem to work. I have the same error. :'(

INFO : This configuration is running in Nagios3

I think there is a flaw there. I'm adding your sample in the test cases, and I'm fixing it. The patch should be available soon (in fact the core code is already ok I think, I need to finish the test case wrote ).

The patch is ready : https://github.com/naparuba/shinken/...2f023c593c95e7

Should work without the dependent_hostgroup_name definition

you can look in the WebUI that the links are ok
