    [RESOLVED]check_esx3

    Hi,

I try to install check_es3 with the new script (shinken.sh). When i write "sudo ./shinken.sh -p check_esx3", after "Downloading VSPHERE SPHERE SDE FOR PERL", this error message appears : "Error while downloading vsphere sdk for perl"

I don't know if you know this issue.

    Thanks.

    Re: check_esx3

Is it a git version? (we fixed some missing proxy the last week if I remember right)

If you configure the proxy in the cfg file aside this .sh, can you try with another plugin?

    Re: check_esx3

I try with the last version on github.

The others plugins works without problem, i have installed (nagios-plugins, check_wmi_plus and check_mysql_health) and no problem to download.

It's an implicit proxy so i don't have to configure it in a cfg, i have just to be sure that the rules on the proxy are right. And normally, with this machine, i can do everything, i will check the log.

I have just an alerte message with check_wmi_plus on shinken : "UNKNOWN - The WMI query had problems. You might have your username/password wrong or the user's accesss is too low." but i don't think its a problem due to download... (but if you know the reason ;D)

    Re: check_esx3

arg, proxy was an easy answer so now I don't really know

    Can you add a line:
    set -x

near the start oif the shinken.sh script? It will launch the shell in "debbuging" mode, so we can see what is the error

For the wmi_plus, did you configure the user/pass in the resource.cfg file? Is this user allowed in your server (at least power user, or for less rights (better) follow http://www.edcint.co.nz/checkwmiplus/node/61 ). I'll try to create a windows GPO for doing this easily

    Re: check_esx3

    I try
    Code:
    sudo ./shinken.sh -x -p check_esx3
and this message appears " ption non permise -- x".

After, the same message "Error while downloading vsphere sdk for perl"

On the proxy, i see a connection to "www.shinken-monitoring.fr" with a green PASS so it's ok.

Thanks for wmi_plus.pl, i was sure that i have configured the ressource.cfg but it was on my first vm test, i will test now.

    Re: check_esx3

I add set -x after the command

And for "CD", "LS", etc... I have comments but not for the command ./shinken.sh -p check_es3... The same messages...

    Re: check_esx3

    Just edit shinken.sh

    and add
    set -x

    before the line:
    if [ -f /tmp/shinken.install.log ]

If you set -x your shell, the .sh you call won't inherit it, so there won't be debug output

    Re: check_esx3

    So easy with set -x ... ;D

We can see the "unknown" instead of "i386" for the tar.gz

    Re: check_esx3

    In the shinken.sh i have replaced on line 1477 & 1494

    $VSPHERESDKVER.$ARCH
    by
    $VSPHERESDKVER.i386
    And on line 1459 & 1480 :

    wget $WGETPROXY $NAGPLUGPERL
    by
    wget http://www.shinken[...]tar.gz
With the "-Y", it's dont work.

    Thanks for your help
