    Firewall Port List

Is there a list of ports that need to be open from a firewall perspective if you are setting up distributed monitoring or high availability on either differented LAN segments seperated by a firewall or setting up pollers to report back to a central master server.

I.e. if I want to monitor remote offices and place a poller in each remote office what firewall ports needs to be open for to receive commands from the master and report back. It looks like at least port 7771 for the poller but does the scheduler port (7768) need to be open as well?

Look at your daemons ports, it's all you need to open (for the shinken daemons, then for your checks from your poller then it's another issue).

The port numbers in the range from 0 to 1023 are the well-known ports or system ports. They are used by system processes that provide widely used types of network services. On Unix-like operating systems, a process must execute with superuser privileges to be able to bind a network socket to an IP address using one of the well-known ports.
