    Re: Business rule with hostgroup

    Hi ................... again

I'm still busy with my business rules.

All works fine except .... in the dashboard.

    I have defined a business rule ( with host_name .... ) with 2 services.

I simulated a problem with both services.

On the IT PRoblems Tab, both services are critical with a beautiful red cross. There is only one part : "Business impact : Normal"

On the Impacts Tab, there is nothing.

When I try your demo, I found the idea with business role defined,a special view for it ( impact ) and a special part for it on the IT Problem Tab "Business impact : Top of Business"

you can see that with "esx2" in your demo.

In your demo, you have also all business which are working ( like google )

But with my configuration, there is nothing about that. The business name ( aka service_description ) is defined as "critical" when I look on the "All" Tab, but nothing on "IT Problems" or "Impacts" tab.

I hope that I'm clear with my explanations If not, There is 3 screenshot to illustrate what I say.

The impact view display only "real" IT problems. Did you try to add the business_impact into your host definition? Follow Me!

Just an advice, put a special page on the wiki with all feature that is not from nagios. It can help old man like me who's using nagios since ... netsaint 0.9 ;-)

In my opinion, everybody wants to have a good business without any problems. However, we all are humans and we all make mistake. I am sure that using accounting service by the link can improve the way how the things are going. At least, you will avoid paper mistakes
